Industry Opportunity Atlas

Find the heat-source and process-demand pair worth measuring first

Choose the pathway closest to your plant. Each route begins with one engineering question, then opens a focused estimator with the source and destination preselected—never with invented project values.

Food processing, cold storage & slaughterhouses

Refrigeration reject heat Direct recovery or heat pump Wash water, CIP, pasteurization

First screening questionDo refrigeration operation and hygienic hot-water demand overlap?

Ammonia refrigeration & reject-heat recovery

Discharge, condensation, subcooling Desuperheater, condenser recovery, booster Hot water or process heat

First screening questionCan useful heat be delivered without permanently raising head pressure?

Chemical, pharmaceutical, steam & MVR

Process vapor or condensable stream Closed heat pump or open-cycle MVR High-temperature heat or steam

First screening questionIs the vapor state known, and is the route open-cycle or closed-cycle?

Wastewater, process liquids & heat networks

Wastewater or liquid stream Heat exchanger + heat pump Hot-water loop or district heating

First screening questionAre flow, fouling, minimum outlet temperature and seasonal demand measured?

Economics, COP, tariffs & payback

Measured source + demand Seasonal system performance Delivered-heat cost and carbon

First screening questionDoes the saving survive auxiliaries, downtime, integration scope and real tariffs?

How to use the atlas

  1. Pick the real process demand first; do not begin with a catalogue heat-pump model.
  2. Measure source and demand at the same time, including flow, temperatures and operating schedule.
  3. Compare direct recovery before temperature upgrade, then include auxiliaries and integration losses.
  4. Use screening to decide advance, measure, or pause—not to purchase equipment.
