Engineering services · Annex 58 Task 3
Applications & transition
Aligned with Annex 58 Task 3 — Applications and transition: strategies that help end-users move from fossil process heat toward heat-pump-based supply. The service is a phased transition roadmap, not a single-skid sales pitch.
Annex 58 Task 3 lens
Task 3 supports conversion strategies—where HTHPs fit in a site decarbonisation path and in which order.
End-user guidance
Guidelines help owners structure decisions: which processes first, what data to collect, how to stage investment.
Beyond one machine
Transition mixes technology (Task 1), integration (Task 2), and organisation—procurement, metering, and skills.
Official reading
Task 3 report via Project 58. Site guide: Annex 58 Task guide.
Roadmap logic we apply
Turn Annex 58 strategy language into a dated plan for your plant.
Heat-demand segmentation
Split <100 °C, 100–150 °C, 150–200 °C bands; match to technology readiness from Task 1.
Pilot then scale
Pick one measurable node, prove duty points, then replicate—avoid enterprise-wide guesses.
Advisory deliverables
Board-readable roadmap with engineering guts.
Outputs
Priority matrix, 3–5 year phases, data gaps, and links to Task 4 specification work for the first pilot.
Transition checklist
- Site heat & fuel baseline
- Process list ranked by temperature / hours / CO₂
- Pilot node with success metrics
- Organisation owners (energy / process / capex)
- Policy / incentive scan (non-legal)
- Link to Task 2 concept and Task 4 specs
Other duties
Building electrification roadmaps exist, but Annex 58 Task 3 is written for industrial process heat conversion.
Quick FAQs
Is this a carbon audit?
It can use audit data, but the product is a heat-pump transition sequence—not a full GHG inventory.
What if fossil boilers must stay?
Roadmaps often keep peaking / backup boilers—say so explicitly (Task 3 realism).
